Cody Kindy, RN, joined Horton’s Orthotics & Prosthetics in 2026 as part of the interdisciplinary clinical team serving Central Arkansas. With 17 years of experience as an orthopedic nurse, Cody brings a unique combination of surgical, clinical, and patient-care experience that helps support improved outcomes for orthotic and prosthetic patients.
Prior to joining Horton’s, Cody worked alongside a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon in both clinic and surgical settings, helping manage patient care from evaluation through recovery. His experience includes pre-operative education, surgical care, post-operative management, amputee care, and follow-up after orthotic and prosthetic device delivery. Through this work, he developed a strong understanding of the clinical decision-making process behind device selection, rehabilitation, and long-term mobility goals.
Cody also understands the challenges patients and providers face navigating today’s healthcare and insurance requirements. He works closely with physicians, referral sources, hospital staff, and the Horton’s clinical team to help improve communication, streamline documentation, and support timely access to care.
He has advanced training in orthopedic procedures, including Stryker Mako Robotic Assisted Surgery for total knee and hip replacements, and was the first nurse in Arkansas trained to scan and fit patients using the ActivArmor custom 3D splint and custom-fit AFO system. Cody was also recognized as an honoree of the Arkansas Great 100 Nurses.
Known for his hands-on and patient-focused approach, Cody is passionate about helping individuals regain mobility, independence, and confidence following injury or surgery.
Outside of work, Cody enjoys hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors with his family. He and his wife Erin, whom he met in nursing school, have three sons.
