Josh Ferguson joined Horton’s in 2024 to complete his NCOPE residency in orthotics and prosthetics. He earned a Master’s degree from the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics – Tampa, Florida, in December of 2023. After completing his 18-month residency program with Horton’s, Josh will be an ABC certified Orthotist/Prosthetist. Prior to pursuing orthotics and prosthetics, Josh earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Central Arkansas.
As a physical therapist since 2012, Josh has worked in acute care, rehab, outpatient, and home health settings. He predominantly worked in Pediatric Therapy treating a variety of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions. During his time as a pediatric physical therapist,he routinelyevaluated the needfor orthotic and prosthetic devices and formulated the rehab care plans for his patients. With his extensive knowledge of biomechanics, he successfully improved the efficiency of his patients’ movements.
Josh enjoys being able to empower children and adults to perform any activity they want and he strives to find ways to make that happen rather than imposing limits on what is possible. The challenge of curating devices to fit each different part of the human body is something that drives Josh to pursue solutions that positively impact each patient he encounters. Combining his physical therapy experience and training in orthotics and prosthetics allows for an in-depth knowledge of devices and the role they play in meeting interdisciplinary rehabilitation team goals. His education and experience coincidewith the passion Josh has for inventing and learning new things.
In addition to serving and caring for patients, Josh is proud to have served his country for 9 years in the Army National Guard. His spare time is spent hunting, fishing, and working out.
