This national nonprofit, the largest of its kind, raises public awareness about the need to improve the lives of amputees, while also preventing additional limb loss. Through information and outreach, Amputee Coalition tries to improve the lives of millions of amputees.
Heather Mills, who lost part of her leg to a landmine in 1993, hosts a website, which offers many resources for amputees around the world. Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation
As the charitable arm of the Orthotics and Prosthetics National Office, OPAF works to raise public awareness about patients who rely on orthotics and prosthetics.
